A LETTER TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED THE ARK
Dear Ark Advocate,
We wish to express our deepest gratitude to all of you who answered the call when the Forest Park Ark asked for your help. Over the past few weeks, many of you spoke up in support of keeping the Forest Park Ark alive and active in the community. Your voice was heard throughout the western suburbs and many were forced to sit up and take notice of the growing concern you have for the care and welfare of stray and abandoned animals in our community. Unfortunately, hard economic times forced the hand of many municipal officials to withdraw their support of the services the Ark provided for the last 3 years.
The Ark was closed in March and the wrecking ball hit well before the stated March 31st deadline.
In the last 3 years, the Ark has helped thousands of animals, placing them into good, loving homes whenever possible. The Ark upheld a standard of animal care that placed it among the most respected and regarded organizations in the Mid West. The Ark was a voice for those that had been abused, neglected and unwanted.
With the Ark's passing, it is all the more important that YOUR voices continue to be heard. If you are a resident of one of the Ark's former municipal partners, we encourage you to inquire as to where your village/township's stray animals are being taken. Visit the facility and speak with those who have been entrusted with your community's stray animals. It is up to YOU to see that these creatures are receiving the care and compassion that they DESERVE. And if you feel that they are not receiving it, speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
The Ark made a tremendous difference in the lives of our animals. It is now up to YOU to continue that mission. We couldn't have succeeded for as long as we did without you, so don't let your voices be stilled.
SPEAK UP. SPEAK OUT. BE HEARD. You CAN make a difference.

TO ALL ARK ADOPTERS
All adoption and return-to-owner records have been TRANSFERRED to the Village of Forest Park Village Hall. We encourage anyone who has had an animal implanted with a AVID Microchip to RE-REGISTER the chip in their name to facilitate tracing of the chip. Presently, anyone tracing a microchip issued by the Forest Park Ark will have to call the Village Office's during open hours.
